Create and Attach Elastic IPs

Creating Elastic IPs (EIPs) for instances is a fundamental operation that enhances the stability, accessibility, and management of your cloud-based resources. Elastic IPs are a feature offered by Eranyacloud that provide a static, public IPv4 address that you can associate with your virtual instances. Unlike dynamic IP addresses, which may change when instances are stopped or restarted, Elastic IPs remain constant, making them highly useful for various use cases in cloud computing.

Elastic IPs are essential for several reasons:

1. Stability and Consistency: Elastic IPs offer a stable and consistent IP address that persists across instance stops and starts. This consistency is crucial for applications and services that require a fixed IP for reliable communication.
2. High Availability: Elastic IPs can be easily reassigned to different instances or across availability zones, ensuring that your applications remain accessible even in the event of instance failures or maintenance activities.
3. Internet-Facing Applications: Elastic IPs are commonly used to host internet-facing applications, websites, and APIs. They allow you to provide a constant endpoint for users or clients, even if you need to replace or scale your instances.
4. Security and Firewall Rules: They simplify network security by allowing you to set up specific firewall rules and access controls based on IP addresses, knowing that your Elastic IP won’t change unexpectedly.
5. DNS and Load Balancing: Elastic IPs are often associated with DNS records and used in conjunction with load balancers to distribute traffic among multiple instances, improving fault tolerance and performance.

Getting Started

• Login to ERANYACloud portal and access to module Network and navigate to Elastic IPs tab
• Click on ‘+’ button to launch the wizard creation

• From the wizard choose the available region and click on Save button

• A new Elastic IP address will be allocated to your account.

 

Remember to consider the following:

• Costs: One Elastic IPs is included when assigned to a Instance. Additional Elastic IP will be charged Rp60.000/IP.
• Detach and Attach: You can detach Elastic IPs from instances and attached them with different instances as needed.
• Region Specific: Elastic IPs are available in all regions. They are region-specific resources and can only be assigned within the same region.

Attach Elastic IP

Once you have successfully create a Elastic IP. Now we can attach it to an Instance.

• Navigate to Instance details and click on Elastic IPs tab. Click on Attach Elastic IP icon

• In the “Attach Elastic IP” form, select available Elastic IP and Network Interface IP from the dropdown and click on ‘Save’ button.
